Continuously sharing her love of music in Savannah.
Woodwind, Brass, Piano
Ms. Murphy teaches on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
In addition to long-term private lessons, Ms. Murphy is also available for short term lessons on clarinet and saxophone to prep students for their Garrison or Savannah Arts auditions.
Ruth Murphy moved to Savannah from Massachusetts, where she had taught private and small group lessons for 13 years and performed in bands throughout various communities in the area.
She helped her piano students of all ages develop their skills and explore the world of music that means so much to them. Her band students in grades 3 through 12 learned the basics of playing their chosen instrument (clarinet, saxophone, trumpet or flute), and they also learned about playing in a school band or a small ensemble.
Three years ago, Ms. Murphy joined Ms. Amy's School where she has continued to share her profound love of music. Ms. Ruth believes that each of us contains a spark of creativity – nourish it; build a little flame, and let it grow. You can be involved as little or as much as you desire in the world of music.
Side note - she is always about town listening to live music and takes ballroom dancing for fun!
